Mini-cogeneration plants
Mini-cogeneration plants are gas piston sets equipped with a heat-exchanger. A mini-cogeneration plant is an up-to-date high technology and power saving equipment with the best cost-efficiency characteristics.
Mini-cogeneration plants advantages are:
- low cost of the produced power and heat
- The mini-cogeneration plant efficiency considerably exceeds that of traditional cogeneration plants working on steam turbo-units
- multifuel capability: as a fuel one can use wastes, associated gases of oil production, wood wastes of forest sanitation
- flexibility of design, production and use, wide choice of technological patterns for producing electric power, heat in the form of steam/ hot water, or cold (water of 6-12ºC) for air-conditioning systems
- the possibility to produce power as close as possible to the consumers, and, therefore, to reduce the grids length and costs of their construction and maintenance
- environmental friendliness
- quick payback
Cummins gas piston sets have the following advantages in case of constructing mini-cogeneration plants: low fuel consumption, long engine service life, reliability and durability.
Mini-cogeneration plants can be used as a main or backup power supply for housing and utilities sector, sewage treatment works, Industrial and agricultural entities, in administrative and medical institutions, housing communities, both independently and together with the centralized power and heat supply systems.
Constructing energy facilities on the basis of gas power plants with the possibility of heat recovery has a number of advantages:
- the possibility to use associated petrol gas (APG) as a cheap fuel directly at the oil production facility
- APG recovery
In Russia raw hydrocarbon losses in flares in the course of oil production exceed 10%. When associated petrol gas is burned in a flare, it is not only valuable raw hydrocarbon that is lost. The energy of combustible components is wasted, while a significant damage to the environment occurs.
Modern technologies of associated gas recovery provide the possibility to utilize the associated gas in full in the fields, to obtain additional electric power, heat and hydrocarbon gas motor fuel.
Gas utilization in the power industry makes it possible to solve the problem of heat and power supply for oil companies. Such power supply solution is considered to be most effective, as it allows using heat energy too.
When using APG as a motor fuel a special attention should be paid to its chemical composition, especially to the methane content. The methane number, characterizing the antiknock mode of the fuel (APG) combustion, must comply with the established technical requirements for gas piston sets.
The power complex utilized in the oil field must include the system of fuel gas purification and treatment.
